SUMMARY OF LESSON,
date: Monday, 30th October 2017
Divided in group of 3-4 mates we did a memory game. The challenge was to remember more words as possibile from a sentence we read for about 5 seconds.
After we compared the words we remembered with the complete sentences, then we tried to understand which were the main information and the keywords from each sentence.
“WHAT sort of dinosaur are you? If you anwered Tyrannosaurus rex, then the bad news is that you probably won't get the job you're applying for”. (from “New English File Upper-Intermediate” p.6-7.)
We read a text about jobs interviews, in which we found also Steve Jobs' particular approach to a candidate he didn't like. The Extreme Interviews are used by “headhunters” to analyze the candidate's reactions. We learnt that we don't have to fluster ourselves, even in bizarre circumstances.
After a reading and comprehension of the text we did an exercise concerning the previous essay in which we analyzed its keywords. In this way we learnt new items for our own vocabulary.
